Circus
In this piece, I have used Punch and Judy puppets to illustrate the pain and suffering that animals endure at the hands of man
The ringleader looks on open-mouthed in perverse exhilaration, the chimpanzee expresses his hurt and bewilderment at the abuse he has suffered, and the clown turns a blind eye to the cruelty being endured.
Many countries around the world ban the use of animals in circuses; sadly, others continue despite objections.
The circus animals can spend up to 96 percent of their lives in transit, trapped in tiny cages or chained up and deprived of their most basic needs.
Common training techniques include being beaten, whipped, and electrocuted.
